Hi, I have a newperson question.
Does the (1995) Quicke Q720 Loader have a Free-floating setting
when the buck is on the ground ?

Hi.
This will depend on your control block (front loader control block), but I think yes, it has a floating position to adapt to the ground. At least every front loader I've ever seen has had that. :)

Hi Joachim, Thank you for your reply. Here is a picture of the info tag on the Zetor 3340 Loader Joystick Hydraulic Control Valve.
So the top of the info tag, I believe indicates moving the Joystick toward the front of the Zetor tractor.
Can you or anyone see where there may be a float position for this Joystick Control ?

Hi Joachim, I may have the tag upside down. This orientation may be the correct orientation. With that said, using the Loader Joystick I have not been able to see floating to be working so far.

... should work.
Hi Joachim, Robert here again,

Trying different things with the joystick and by using the right side armrest for support,

I did find by pressing the joystick forward just enough to cause the buck to slowly drop down,

that it would then behave like it is in float mode.

There is only a short space of joystick movement for this free-float-mode to work.

But this is Good News ! it WORKS !!!

What I mean with my arrow at the picture is the symbol on it. Not the direction to move it. There are 5 symbols they you tell in what position what function is given. :)

Hi Joachim, Thank you for your reply. Yes, I did not understand the arrow.
So the forward fifth symbol is representing a Float position for the Loader.
But this joystick does not have this Float position in it.
So maybe Zetor just put the same tag on all there tractors even though it may not have this feature.

Looking at the Hydraulic Valve Body out on the Quicke Q720 Loader, there is a Lever valve on the side toward the tractor.
Would anyone know what the function of this lever is ?

Could this lever be a safety for when working under the loader ?

Hi Joachim and/or anyone,
Could the Joystick cables be out of adjustment causing the trouble of there being no float ?

Checking out the Up and Down Cable at the Hydraulic Valve Body

I did not see where there may be an adjustment for the Cable.

Pressing the Valve-Pin up/in hard did not produce the wanted Float feature.

The front wheels came off the ground and pulling the Valve-Pin down/out caused the Loader to move up.

So, not finding a Float Feature with this Valve-Pin is very sad.

I am open to any other ideas that anyone may have.

No! - Safty is only given with a support under the loader or better at hydraulic cylinders.
If its a two way lever, it blocks the pipe - but its no safety. Its only there to use (if closed) the hydraulic at the rear to tip trailers eg.

Yes.

But this joystick does not have this Float position in it.
Thats bad, but possible. The former buyer apparently didn't want to pay extra for this feature. ;)

Thats not a original Zetor loader. Loaders are alsways third party products. Up to around 2016 it was TracLift/Prima and then Alö eg.. So the Quicke loader at your Zetor is a third party device and the functions it have or not is what the former buyer apparently was willing to pay for. ;)

I did not see where there may be an adjustment for the Cable.
I some cases its at the joystick side adustable, in some other is ther no way to adrjust it. And - dont use for the cable a mineralic oil. Use only a silicon oil there.

If complete pushing forwar the joystick doesnt work for you, have you tried the other way? I some cases the cables are wrong mounted at the joystick and functions are not as the pics on it are saying.

Joachim thank you for your very good reply's,
Yesterday at this Hydraulic Valve Body (WALVOIL SDM143/2) I disassembled where the Loader Cable for Up and Down attached to the Hydraulic Valve Body and pushed hard the valve control pin up into the Valve Body all the way and no Float feature detected in that direction. Then next I pulled the valve control-pin down all the way and the Loader moved only upward. Again no Float feature detected.

When reassembling the cable to the Hydraulic Valve Body there is an adjustment there for the cable, as when tightening the two 8mm bolts, they lock the cable in place.

The Joystick has a feature to lock it in the center position, which I did before tightening the two 8mm bolts. This set the cable back to its proper adjustment.

I removed the Rubber-Boot from around the Joystick and because when pressing the Joystick forward it at first releases the Loader to move down with no down pressure being applied. This is a very short area of Joystick movement, but does work as a down Float. This is a Cheat way to use a Float feature, but is very difficult to maintain this Joystick position, as every time the tractor is bumped around this Joystick position lost.

I am looking at finding a way to add something that would help to give a way to feel where this Cheat free-float position is with the Joystick.

Another option I want to look for finding a Hydraulic Valve Body that has the Float feature made into it and what the cost would be for it.

New complete front loader valve with all what you like to have (valve, joystick, cable) will cost around 260-300 Euro I think.
You can take a look at Ebay, there are some listed. :)

I have not been able to find one that says with float yet. I found this PDF file about the WALVOIL SDM143/2

Look:

One of the first search results - a walvoil with float function as a complete set... :)
It look like it may be to small of capacity for the Zetor 3340 system (I will need to find what the Zetor 3340 needs to have and in English too). In the sdm143a.pdf file on pages 11 and 12 there is mentioned float there. Not sure, but caused me to think maybe it could be out of adjustment with the relief stuff in the Hydraulic SDM143 Valve Body itself. Maybe it has been monkeyed around with by someone before me.

Its only a example - they also have bigger valves. ;)
Hi Joachim,
Update, I received email reply from Canimex Hydraulic and they only sell the Walvoil series SDM143,
but did say

"In regards to the SDM143 – it does have the capability to run 4th position float."

So there may be something wrong inside of the SDM143 to why the Spooling Rod is not able to move into the 4th position.
The SDM143A.pdf file shows that it should be there.
I need some more info about this SDM143 Hydraulic Valve Body before I may start to open it up.
