Here are a few tips on the FIN / VIN, the vehicle identification number (also serial number or chassis number) and the MIN, the engine identification Number (also engine number) and where you can find it on the respective Zetor models.

So where can you find this number, which is so important for registration, on the Zetor chassis or engine?

Zetor 15, Zetor 25

Engine identification number (MIN) at the top front of the engine block.
Engine identification number on the engine block and vehicle identification number on the transmission/differential joint.
MIN - Engine identification number
Front, bottom left of the engine block on the side.

Zetor Super, Zetor 50 Super
FIN/VIN - vehicle identification number
The multi-digit (usually 5-digit) chassis number (FIN) can be found at the rear right below the trailer towing device.
Zetor 2011 - 5645
Vehicle identification number (FIN/VIN)
Right side of the clutch bell near the starter.
Engine identification number:
Zetor 4712 - 6745
Vehicle identification number (FIN/VIN)
Right side of the clutch bell near the starter.
Engine identification number:

Zetor 4911 - 6945, Zetor 5011 - 7045 and Zetor 5211 - 7745
Engine identification number (MIN) and vehicle identification number (FIN/VIN)
MIN - engine identification number in detail:
On the engine block, top rear right just below the last cylinder head.
FIN/VIN - vehicle identification number in detail:
On the front right of the cast iron front axle console, near the flange on the engine.
In addition, the following numbers indicate the real year of production, which may differ here and there from the date of "first registration", as some Zetors were also in stockpile for a while - especially for western export.
Gearbox casting date:
Hydraulic cover casting date:

Since around 1990, every manual /operating instructions for the Zetor has included the location(s) where these numbers can be found. So here are just 2 examples.

Zetor 3320 - 7340 Major and 3321 - 7341Super
Here again at the front right on the front axle console.
Zetor 7520 - 10540
If you know of other places for the VIN, please contact me and I will add them to these instructions and if you have photographed a VIN with the corresponding year of manufacture, then our VIN list will be happy with it. :)(y)
Hi everyone,

I have the numbers off the tractor,

but not sure of the proper way to read them,

to get the manufacture date.

Zetor 3340 Ser.: 8528

Engine Model: Z5203

Engine Numbers: 5202 0102 3
3 9 99

Is the numbers: 3 9 99 = March 9, 1999

Your 3340 can be from 1999 - but double check this with the year and month that you can find left side of gearbox as a relief.

your complete and readable serial chassis number will be: Zetor 3340-08528
The motor number makes no sense for me - better read it from the motor block, right side below the last (in front of cab) cylindre head. Its beginning with a * and it should end with a *. Possible a Z 5202 - xxxxx therefore xxxxx is a number with 5 chars. And they should be a 9xxxx or 10xxxx or 11xxxx in the 1999 production year.

I have not been able to find those numbers or any numbers there yet. I will keep looking for all the numbers that I can find. Did find these numbers on the transmission "Zetor 601801". there is some others there to that I am not sure what they indicate, see photo,

Hi Joachim,

I will try bushing (cleaning) that area up to see if it will show it more clear.

The best I have been able to make it out to be is K or M and 98 or 99.

Hi Joachim,
After cleaning the left side of the transmission it is much better
to see more of the Transmission Casting Numbers.

2

" Zetor 60 1801 "

12 10 98

So if the Transmission Casting Number: 12 10 98 then may be Dec.10, 1998.
And if the engine model 5203 with numbers: 3 9 99 = March 9, 1999,
I am leaning toward the manufacturing date to be in the year of 1999.
Parts to build the tractor are planed and made months ahead of the assembly and shipped out to be sold.

November 1998 is the gearbox manufactor date. :like

Its from a non english staate - we use the dateformat day, month, year and not year, month, day ;)

If 12 10 98 Day, Month, Year, then the date would be Oct. 12, 1998.
In the states 1960's and into the 1990's it was always Month, Day, Year.
After the 2000's I started to see the Month and Day switched around with computer book data stuff, which makes it confusing on-purpose.
When any of them are over 12, then we can know for certain which is Day or Month.

Hi Joachim,
The tag on the Grill Guard is an other example.
Grill Guard 328885 Date of Production: 1999 / 09 / 15 (which is Sept. 15, 1999)

There is an EPA tag on the right side of the engine, which has a year of 1999.
Also the Engine Model Number: Z 5203
