    Stiff 3-point lift lever

Hi Again! Now the shaft that the lever pivots on seems to have broken its weld at the base {:-( At least I now know that the problem was on the lever pivot shaft not the actuator shaft that works the hydraulics. It would be an easy fix, apart from how hard it is to get in there to drill out...

    Stiff 3-point lift lever

Hi Folks! I've noticed that the lever that controls the lift on my 6945 has got very, very stiff. I've backed off the friction nut and that hasn't helped. Does anyone have any ideas? Is there a grease point on this assembly that I've missed? Thanks!

    6945 rear axle bearings

Yes indeed! I will open it up completely as soon as possible and try and asess the full extent of the damage - my local K-maatalous Zetor dealer has the outer bearings in stock - but I also thought that a phone call to Isojoen konehalli might be an idea - at least they advertise tractor...

    6945 rear axle bearings

Hmm.. unfortunately the crunching sound I heard when driving home today leads me to think I thought wrong :( I've had to borrow a Massey Ferguson to transport the digger tomorrow {:-(

    6945 rear axle bearings

Hi Folks Well it's kind of fixed, for the time being - I think. I got a pair of new locknuts from the local Zetor dealer, and managed to get these on tightly. In fact despite the axle thread being damaged the new nuts went on so well that I decided to forgo the welding for the time being and...

    6945 rear axle bearings

I like that welding idea, thanks! Getting the wheel shaft firmly in place and the bearing seated fully is going to be hard though - although maybe it would help to remove the wheel? Thanks again J-P

    6945 rear axle bearings

Hi Folks! I noticed today that my tractor's left rear wheel was at an odd angle :-( When I opened up the bearing cover on the inside of the portal I found that both lock-nuts had been pulled straight off, and the inner taper bearing was completely loose. There was no thread at all left on one...

Have you checked the adjustment of the linkage between the control lever in the pump handle and the valve actuator?

    7745 hard to steer

Hmm... I've used both 10-30 multifarm and 10-40 Mobil diesel engine oil in my steering and it has always been very easy to steer, even on cold days. One finger on the wheel is enough! When the oil level drops though it does get VERY stiff...

    6945 revving up by itself...

Hi Markku I've topped up the oil in there three times now, since I got the tractor. It doesn't loose much there. Having said that it has been a while since I checked it, so will do so ASAP! Thanks!

    6945 revving up by itself...

Yeah - the tractor has been in need of a rebuild since I got it (which I knew about at the time). I think I'll be lucky if I can get away with rings and a hone though. I have been thinking in terms of new pistons/liners, but I suppose I won't know until I pluck up the courage and open it up...

    6945 revving up by itself...

Is it possible, remembering the problems I have with a large amount of oil coming out through the crankcase breather, that now the engine is so worn that oil is getting past the pistons on the downstroke, and into the combustion chambers that way? Would this cause the surging effect?

    6945 revving up by itself...

Hi folks My 6945 has developed a new trick - when it's left ticking over for long periods from time to time it will rev up by itself - just as if someone had pressed the gas pedal. This lasts just three or four seconds and is accompanied by extra smoke from the exhaust (blue, black, and white...
