I have posted pictures of a simple puller for swivel bearing cups ( upon prompting ). I hope they are of some use.

neat that. but do you own a welder? simple way is to run a ring of weld round inside the bearing, allow to cool and you can lift it out with your fingers.

G'day Mathew
Yes welding is much quicker than making a puller.
I wanted to use the bearing cups again.

A bit of pitting doesn't necessarily write off the bearings. They have low rotation and if the cup and cone surfaces are not notched or rippled with roller contact, then it may be worth considering salvage or reuse after a thorough clean up.

If all rust is removed and any light pitting neutralised then you may have an option. The bearings are nice and heavy for the application so a lot of leaway is there.

With a puller you can do it in the paddock away from power needed for a welder or lift "good" bearings for removing plug caps to modify for grease points.

The plugs and bearings cups can be pushed out with a ram if the axle is withdrawn also.

i see, ye looking at the photos they look ok. i did the swivel bearings on a 3cx a while back, horrible job would never have got them out without a welder!
