This may help someone with same problem. Manual primer on 6340 seemed to work bud was leaking fuel around stem and tractor wouldnt start. Loosened outflow banjo on fuel filter and pumped primer but continuous foamy fuel air mix never cleared. Heard bubbling in fuel tank while priming. Engine wouldn't start. Finally started engine with ether and after a few minutes of rough running engine ran smooth and now bleeding the filter banjo ran only fuel, no foam. My conclusion is that the worn out primer was pumping air into the system, all the way back to the fuel tank, therefore no fuel in injection pump, and no starting engine. Obviously mechanical lift pump is working well.
Question??? I saw a picture somewhere of a small Bosch electric primer pump. Does anyone have information on part # or availability of this ?
