I have an old style 6945 with the start button on the fuel pump. Now my question is, how much and what weight oil should be in there. It looks like a fuel pump that requires oil anyway...

Good question. I often buy them cheap as non-runner, flush with diesel, govern the engine with a screwdriver on the fuel control rod, untill the pulsing of the pump camshaft and the centrifugal force on the governor, frees things up. (make sure you undo your coveralls before going home, the diesel flies everywhere) Then relube the fuel pump and sell with a nice profit.

Just engine oil is OK.

Hi.
Take the overflowpipe of and fill whit engine oil till it flows out.the gowenor has two plugs inn the rear botom one being drein and topp one is level.
