  1. Torque for injectors

Just to standard M8 torque (appr 28 ftlb). If you are having this issue, I'd say your injector sleeve needs replacing. The sleeves are a shrink fit, to remove, tap the sleeve out with a large dia tap, and adapt a suitable bolt to a slide hammer. To install, heat the head up a little, and freeze...
  2. 5211 park brake

No, the lever cover is easy to remove. Just pull off knobs on 3 levers, and remove the 13mm nuts holding the cover down. Then it is pretty easy to get in there to adjust the RH side park brake adjuster rod. Sounds to me like your cable may be seized. I know you said that you can move the lever...
  3. imported parts vs local parts?

I am in Australia also, and mainly use Sparex parts ordered through my local dealer, usually available overnight. Sparex has most parts for Zetors, and are as good, if not better quality than genuine. David Evans should be able to source Sparex.
  4. Shift lever boot

Keep in mind the boot you are replacing it with has a hole in it anyway, it is the only breather the gearbox has. So replacing it is not going to keep water out, you just need to make sure you keep water away from that area. Don't block up the hole, the boot will likely pump up like a balloon or...
  5. 7211 steering pulling to right

It will have the same effect if you fill the power steering with too heavy an oil. Use only ATF or a light hydraulic oil (32cst max).
  6. 5211 cylinders--Identification

Yes, if the park brake band is adjusted too tight, they will heat the drum up and expand it, then it is just a chain reaction to the point the tractor will almost stop. The park brakes work excellent, I only wish the service brake was a 10th as efficient as them! Oh, and never use the park brake...
  7. 5211 cylinders--Identification

They are srings to balance out the park brake actuation. If one side is adjusted up more, these compensate for it. They fill up with crud and don't work after a while.
  8. Zetor 5211 shifter boot

With a great degree of difficulty, I used a long prybar to push it down. Good luck!!
  9. 3320 Smokes and No Power

No, substandard machining on pistons and liners I think. Other 3 cylinders had no signs of grabbing. It was no.1 also, so it should be the coolest, unless the thermostat was stuck closed and opened suddenly, though it had been running for 8hrs before it happened. Both piston and liner were B...
  10. 3320 Smokes and No Power

I wouldn't work it until you have isolated it to a cylinder. Crack the fuel lines off one by one to see which one makes the least difference to find which cylinder is causing the heavy breathing. Then pull the head off to check the cylinder. That much from the breather isn't right, no amount of...
  11. Termostart

Sounds like either compression, injection, or timing, or a combination. No way a 6245 should need any help at 0*c if it's mechanically good. My 7245 will start easily at 0, without any assistance whatsoever.
  12. Big Bale silage Which tractor?

I use a 7245 as my hay tractor, it handles 6' x 4' rounds easily on the loader with nothing on the back, so if you're making 4x4 baleage or even 5x4, it would handle it with ease I think. I would look at a 7745 turbo though, my 7245 wants for more HP making 6 foot bales or running the discbine...
  13. Fel pump shaft not turning?

Better still. see if you can get a hold of a pully off a 2 series tractor (e.g. 6245 etc), as they aready have the threaded holes in it, with provision for dowels also. These holes are there to drive a front PTO, so the pully is plenty strong enough.
  14. Fel pump shaft not turning?

Splines aren't designed to run dry, especially where there may be a chance of misalignment. You could try drilling and tapping a grease nipple in there somewhere, so the spline was lubricated.
  15. Fel pump shaft not turning?

I assume you have a pump mounted in the front that is driven by the front crank pulley? If so, you'd find it easiest to remove the radiator for easier access, then unbolt the pump and move it out of the way, you should then see the problem easily. If it is set up with the front pump, this isn't...
  16. Fel pump shaft not turning?

Sounds like it may have stripped the spline.
  17. 5011 with stiff power steering

+ Having a front end loader fitted! If it does, there is not much option than to live with it! This and the lack of brakes is my only beef with the UR1's! Love them otherwise :D
  18. question How to dropping front end off of Zetor 3545

Yep, will do. I just wish Zetor had designed such a high load bushing with grease seals so that the grease wasn't pushed out instantly!!
  19. question How to dropping front end off of Zetor 3545

Send that rain over the ditch to me, I wouldn't have had an inch of rain in the last 6 months, and have had some real hot days. It was 45* in the shade here yesterday, 20% humidity, and 35km/hr winds :( I too need to replace the front axle bushes, dreading getting that damn pin out though!
  20. 7245 hydraulic upgrade

Checked back pressure, 300psi, so no chance of that. The pump is a rexroth unit, much better quality than the zetor pump. People running their pump on 1000 pto rpm will wear theirs out quicker, I haven't worked out what the speed is on 1000 pto, but judging by the scream out of it, it must be...
  21. 7245 hydraulic upgrade

No overheating so far, the hottest it has got is 70*c, which considering we had a 46*c day here yesterday, is pretty good. I took the pump out of the rear end, as I was sick of paying the $1000 odd AUD to replace it. I was running 60LPM to start with, so I can go back to it if I have overheating...
  22. 7245 hydraulic upgrade

I have upgraded the pump to a crank driven one. The front pulley has bolt holes for a front PTO, I made an adapter plate from a big washer, and used a pump drive shaft off a ford 550 backhoe. I removed the old pump and made a plate to replace the original one, and mounted a 1.5" suction line and...
  23. Introduction & Request for help on 4911 hydraulic problems

The cupped side (Lip as they are called), go to the pressure side. This is the same with any hyd or oil seal.
  24. stuck clutch

The buttress caps are what the fingers pivot on, about in the middle of the fingers. If they break, the fingers don't pivot, and wont pull the pressure plate back. Seems unlikely they would break while sitting. Did you drive it before it was parked?
  25. Valve adjustment

Ditto, this is how I set them too. Keeps turning the engine over to a minimum! I use a socket on the alternator pulley nut to turn it over, just watch you don't overtighten the nut ;)
  26. stuck clutch

Silly me, one of the first things I should have asked, is how does the pedal feel? Is there any free play? It should be firm after the first 20mm of pedal movement. Any more, and it needs adjusting.
  27. Hay Rake types

Yes, fast is best when it comes to haying 8)
  28. Coolant or anti freeze

Oh, I also added an 89 deg thermostat, to let the engine run cleaner. It stays bang on 89 now no matter the load on it (It works hard too, running a 6x4 baler, it knocks it around when baling high density 6 foot bales!) Couldn't be happier with the cooling system now! Only thing I need to do now...
  29. Coolant or anti freeze

Yes, that is the one, though technically an expansion tank is pressurised, as in most late model cars. This is just the recovery style that catches overflow, and sucks it back in when it cools. The kit was available from the local auto parts store. I had to get a new neck soldered in the...
  30. stuck clutch

That is very weird?! The only thing I can think is the bolts holding the pressure plate to the flywheel, or the flywheel to the crank have fallen out, but then you would have no drive at all.
