  1. info Crystal... a year in the field now ?

The Crystal hasn't been sold in the US, yet. I wonder if Zetor has any plans for introducing it to the North American market. I agree with you that the Forterra cab needs a redesign. You are also correct about it needing heavier axles. If you overbuild a tractor, then the wear is less as you...

report [TechAgro] New roof and engine for Zetor Forterra?

https://web.archive.org/web/20160416114747/https://www.fginsight.com/news/zetor-set-to-expand-its-tractor-line-up-11252 This article does state that the Stage 4 Forterras are on display. Also talks about the other upcoming ranges of tractors.

news Some info on Motorpal CR systems tested on Zetor engines

The original article you posted was talking about CR systems on the new Z1727 engine. I did a bit of sleuthing and found that the same researcher at Mendel University in Brno also did some research on the shape of the combustion chamber in the new Z1605 engine. There is also mention of a Z1717...

news Some info on Motorpal CR systems tested on Zetor engines

SCR is the way to go. I watched a YouTube video a couple of years ago that outlined the benefits of SCR over EGR (I looked for it, but cannot find it; if I find it, I'll post it). I think as more stringent emissions are implemented that there won't be solely engines that rely on EGR or SCR...

Have you guys heard any news on the new Minor? When will we see it?

news Zetors future vision on Agritechnica

So the T5.0 now becomes the T100, and the T10.0 becomes the T120. So, the Major Plus or Power will utilize the new T100 with the 24x24. Wonder if it will be the T100 Powershift model or the Dual Clutch version?

news Zetors future vision on Agritechnica

I just saw this new article today; it is a month old. I don't know how I haven't noticed it before. I think we had discussed some of this in the other thread about the Pininfarina concept, but I wanted to put it on the forum in case we didn't discuss all of it. To sum up the article, the new...

news Zetors future vision on Agritechnica

I totally agree with you; their ranges seem to be all over the place. There is no tiering. When you step up to a higher horsepower tractor, a customer expects a better appointed cab. Like you said, the Proxima right side panel is very tastefully done, yet the Forterra remotes look straight from...

news Zetors future vision on Agritechnica

You may be right. With Zetor's revival of the Crystal name, they are sure to rely on the historical significance of the Super nameplate. I think Zetor will soon need to simplify it's model lineup. It's getting complicated: Major and its variants, Proxima and its variants, Forterra and Forterra...

news Zetors future vision on Agritechnica

So you think the new 180 hp "Crystal HD" series will be called the Super? Or do you mean the 200-250hp series will be called the Super? Do you think that the Maxterra name is dead?

news Zetors future vision on Agritechnica

I agree, Renze. They should've hired a design firm for the interior of the cabs. I think that would've had more impact with the farmers than the new Pinanfarina concept. It did garnish alot of media attention, but the styling does look generic and straight from SDF. An ergonomic interior with...

news Zetors future vision on Agritechnica

Renze, I see. Do you prefer that design of axle? I think it seems a bit cheaper. zetorfanpl, I thought the rear axle look familiar. It seems Massey needs to pick a tractor axle design for the 75-95 hp economy class. First, Carraro for the 3600 series, then Iseki for the 4600 series, now...

news Zetors future vision on Agritechnica

Ok. Thank you. I am not sure what you mean by portal style front axle. I think the 4600 series, built by Iseki, had a beveled gear front axle. It seems the 4700 series has a planetary housing. I assume that is what you are calling portal style. It does seem that the 4700 series are Proxima...

news Zetors future vision on Agritechnica

Yes. We do like small 30-60 horsepower utility tractors here. I think many smaller farmers here still would like tractor manufacturers to offer models similar to the Ford 2000, 3000, or 4000 or MF 135, 165 or 175. My grandfather bought a new Ford 4000 in 1972; a neighboring farmer bought it from...

Here is the official news release. https://www.zetor.com/zetor-tractors-a-s-presents-the-future-direction-of-the-brand-and-new-models-at-agritechnica I am quite excited about the new "Minor" series. This could potentially be really good for Zetor. If they build a substantial tractor, it could...

    news new Zetor marketing videos

I agree with you on the videos. I wasn't insinuating that you were taking offense. I apologize for that. Yes; it is all about marketing. Apple doesn't make that much of a better product than any other technology company. Due to their marketing, they can now practically charge whatever they want...

    news new Zetor marketing videos

I saw them. I thought they were all humorous, but I could see where one might take offense to the first and third one. This is exciting. It is some of the first Zetor advertisement videos that I've ever seen. They really are trying to market the Crystal. I wonder when they will announce it in...
  18. Zetor Super Engines (3.9L) vs Proxima Engines (4.2L)

Does anyone know why Zetor changed from the 3.9 L engines that were in the Super tractors to the 4.2 L engines that are currently in the Proxima tractors? I am somewhat unfamiliar with Zetor tractors, but I read somewhere that the 3.9 L engines had individual cylinder heads, while the 4.2 L...
  19. question Zetor Major Transmission/Axles questions

I know that the old IHC rear end found on the CX is gone. I think the transmission has been kept, though. The rear end from the X60 and new X6 series looks nothing like the original CX series. I read somewhere that the new rear end was more efficient. The new McCormick X4 series has 6 models...
  20. question Zetor Major Transmission/Axles questions

I have read about customers had alot of issues with the T4 series, which are Turkish built. I think the T5 are Italian built, but I am not 100% sure. I rather like the new McCormick X tractors. They are all built in Italy. McCormick is not too popular here in the U.S., but I think they will...
  21. question Zetor Major Transmission/Axles questions

Oh good! DSGs are gaining popularity in the automotive world. Honda just introduced one that has a torque converter in it. A DSG in a tractor would be cutting edge. If all the problems are worked out, I think it will be a good gearbox. I was unaware of the T7 powershift issues. I remember Ford...
  22. question Zetor Major Transmission/Axles questions

Hmmm... It must Poland or some of the other Eastern European countries that have the new Majors. I think adding the Deutz engine was a smart move. As you say, Deutz has a reputation for reliability. It was definitely a cheaper alternative to developing a 3 cylinder version or a new smaller...
  23. question Zetor Major Transmission/Axles questions

I agree, Renze. Do you know if the US has gotten the new Majors with the Deutz engines, yet? The Zetor North America website still lists a Zetor engine in the specifications. I know you guys have gotten them in Europe, because I've seen YouTube video reviews.
  24. question Zetor Major Transmission/Axles questions

Well, I think alot of tractor companies build their tractors with much lighter axles and transmissions than tractors from the 20th century. The Zetor Major seems to be a nice balance of build strength, affordability, and mechanical reliability, which intrigues me. I am also intrigued by Zetor...
  25. question Zetor Major Transmission/Axles questions

The current 3 cylinder series. Do you guys still get the 3600 series in Europe? They stopped selling them here in the U.S. The replacement is the Japanese built 4600 series.
  26. question Zetor Major Transmission/Axles questions

Yes, our drawbars are designed for horizontal loads. Didn't MF have alot of issues with the 3600 series? We don't get the JD 5G or the 5R series here in the US. We get the cheap 5E series and the 5M.
  27. question Zetor Major Transmission/Axles questions

That is true. I've never understood why we don't have the hitch systems like you guys. They seem so much more convenient to hitch when pulling with the drawbar. Here you practically need 2 people to hitch: one to drive and the other to help line up the holes.
  28. question Zetor Major Transmission/Axles questions

Thank you zetorfanpl and Renze. I was quoted about $31,500 for a Major 80 4WD. That seemed to be the best price I could find. I just think the way the drawbar is mounted in the US seems really flimsy, but all the new tractors seem flimsy when compared to the Ford 30, 40, and 10 series that my...
  29. Zetor 9050

You cannot tell much from a tractor's serial number. I did notice from the pictures that the tractor has the 16x16 mechanical shuttle transmission. It is a good price on the tractor, but it does look like it has been slightly abused.
