  1. 4340 brakes jamming on and sticking in reverse!

I have the same issue with a 5340, if you solve it I'd love to hear how, good luck.
  2. starter motor has a mind of it's own

Happened to me two days ago, shut the tractor off after a short run and the starter motor was whirring away. I had to disconnect the battery to get it to stop. I tapped the solenoid with a hammer and it's been working good since. Not very confidence inspiring though.
  3. gear shift conversion

I found the gearshifter on the floor very annoying at first but you get used to it pretty quick, doesn't bother me at all anymore.
  4. starting

Or the pto clutch lever switch if it's the same as a 5340.
  5. brakes locking up

In 2WD it skids to a stop, in 4WD, yeah, human catapult into the windscreen ;D
  6. brakes locking up

On my 5340 the brakes lock up with very little pressure on the brake pedal. It's almost impossible not to lock them up so I either plan my stops well ahead of time or skid to a stop. Any ideas?
  7. 5340 stalling

I took the tank off today and shook it with some diesel in it and dumped it out into a bucket and a 5" long piece of black electrical tape came out with the fuel. It sank to the bottom of the bucket. I re-installed the tank and went cutting for a few hours and no issues. I guess the piece of...
  8. 5340 stalling

My 5340 will run great for a while, sometimes for hours and then it will suddenly stop (usually somewhere inconvenient 69) ) Sometimes it starts right up again and sometimes it takes a lot of cranking and priming and sometimes I just have to go away and start it up later which it usually does...
  9. 6718 hand throttle problem

The foot throttle might still work to get it moved, good luck
  10. Zetor 3320 VERY new Newbie How do I start this thing?

My 5340 needs to have the clutch pushed all the way in and the PTO clutch lever(yellow handle) disengaged(pulled up) as well. The switch under the PTO clutch lever occasionaly sticks so I have to poke at it it to get it to pop up.
  11. zetors dont't break down?

Mine has had lots of problems. I'm glad they're at least easy to work on and that parts aren't too pricey.
  12. Zetor 3320

I'm having similar issues with my 5340, Gas line anti-freeze helps but doesn't eliminate the problem. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread ;) good luck
  13. Zetor engine

If it has wet sleeves over-heating can apparently damage the o-rings and cause coolant to leak into the crankcase. (not much fun to fix :( ) look out for coolant in the oil.
  14. blue smoke 5340

...and I used the 1.5mm head gaskets. The manual said to go with the 1.5's if I wasn't sure.
  15. blue smoke 5340

I can't figure out why my post got inserted into someone else's post.weird!! I made a point of really giving the engine some work and working through the rev range while the rings were seating. I changed the oil(regular old 15w40) after some break in time and then the tractor spent the summer...
  16. blue smoke 5340

While changing the cylinder sleeve o-rings last year I got the cylinders honed and installed new piston rings. After 150 hours there's less, but still a lot of blue smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. The oil level doesn't drop and the smell iof the exhaust isn't that typical burnt motor motor...
  17. 5340 coolant loss

Hi, Just letting anyone who's interested know that after replacing the o-rings on the cylinder liners the coolant is no longer finding its way into the oil :) It was a fair amount of work to replace them but Zetors are thankfully quite easy to work on. I deglazed the cylinders and replaced the...
  18. loader bushings

Wow thanks Mike,we'll see if that does it tomorrow, thanks again! As for zetor struggling over here (I'm in Canada) I don't know much about it but till now it has been no problem to get parts which is fortunate because I've had to order a lot of them ;D I do know some people in the czech...
  19. loader bushings

that's what I figured I might have to do,I just didn't anticipate it being such an ordeal for zetor to cough up these parts since they advertise on their website that their loaders have replacable bushings. Thanks for your reply, appreciate it. Dave
  20. loader bushings

I tried to order some new loader pivot bushings for a zetor system 100 loader from my local dealer but the parts guy couldn't get the part numbers from the computer so he told me I would have to buy a parts book, look up the part numbers and then he could order them.??? I thought bushings were...
  21. 5340 coolant loss

I was afraid it might be something like that with the sleeves,I'm guessing that's a pretty big job. Thanks for the advice!
  22. 5340 coolant loss

Hi, I just signed up since I'm now a fellow zetor owner, glad to find this forum! Our 5340 was using a fair amount of coolant and it was ending up in the oil so I changed the head gaskets and all the other gaskets on the valve head. I'm not sure if the problem is fixed or not but after about 2...
