  1. 3045 steering box

My 3045 has only one steering arm, and I have two sets of bushes for the centre pin, supplied by Zetor agents which are too big, yet they say you can't get any smaller ones. ITs a 1968 tractor.
  2. 3045 steering box

HI there, I've just restore the above tractor but I still have too much play in the steering box. I've been told that a box from a later model will fit on. It has roller bearings instead of the block system in mine Can anyone tell me what tractor this comes off as I'd like to fit one. Thanks Paddy.
  3. 3045 Gold Paint.?

I now have the tractor painted (with Sparex Paint ) . It is still in bits to be rebuilt, but I have taken a lot of pics as I went along. Can photographs be posted on this forum ? If so I would post them to let others see the progress. OH and how can I do this?
  4. 9641 PTO.

I eventually figured out a solution to the PTO problem. I put the PTO into ground drive, move the tractor forward a few feet to start the mower turning and then change to normal PTO drive and engage it while the mower is free wheeling. The engine takes up the drive and there is no shockto the...
  5. 3045 Gold Paint.?

    Thanks Renze, will try them.
  6. 3045 Gold Paint.?

Starting to restore the above tractor and want to get the proper colour. Some I've seen painted are more like Massey Gold, where as mine is more a Gold/Green colour. Is there a paint number as such for this colour? Or where can the right paint be bought? I'm in Northern Ireland by the way.
  7. 9641 PTO.

My 9641 PTO. goes into gear very sharply when you push the switch. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to adjust the speed at which it starts to turn, or in other words take up the drive more gently.
  8. Spool Valves ?

Well boys, I'm in trouble as usual, I have bought an old flail hedgecutter, which uses the spools of the 9641. My problem is that the cable controlled valves are very stiff, making it hard to make smooth movements. Is there any way to adjust the cables so that they move easier? Any help...
  9. 9641 starter solenoid

Thanks Renz, got one from main agent, was only 36 so juet bought it .
  10. tractor rally in aid of cancer appeal ....the pit falls ..

There's a lot of road runs this side of the water, and as long as the driver signs a form stating that the machine is insured, thats it. Of course we also have to apply to the Parades commision for permission, ( this being N Ireland) . We had a run in with customs & excise a few years ago, about...
  11. 9641 starter solenoid

What make is the starter on my 9641? would the solenoid have to be purchased from the main agent, or are they a cmmon make which can be got anywhere?
  12. 3045 pto-Hyds.

Still finding my way around the 3045, so a couple of questions. The PTO lever has 3 positions, but the hyds only seem to work when the PTO is turning, are they all like this or should the lift work without the shaft turning? Also need a rim to hold a lens into one of the front lights, can...
  13. another 3045 question

Well, I managed to get the hydraulics working again, with the help of a rubber hammer >:-) I think it was just a stuck valve. the tractor has been in storage for 6 + yrs. She lifted a 4 furrow Kneverland plough and held it up even with the engine stopped :D Still havn't got to use her yet though.
  14. Intermittent Hydraulics, on 3045

The hyds on the 3045 are not lifting the link arms, the trailer tipping lever is pressurising (engine revs drop while lever is pulled), but the draft/position lever does nothing. PTO shaft is running ??? Just changed the oil in the back end, and put in EP 90. took the seat off tonite, and...
  15. another 3045 question

Thanks Renze, will let you know how I get on, after I get the old girl working.
  16. another 3045 question

Front tyres are new. and have been offered a set of rear radials for 170 each, which seems good value, and they match the fronts, so will probably fit them. To quote an old friend, That'll do me my day.;D;D
  17. another 3045 question

Thanks guys,I'm a bit disapointed that the FWD doesn't work in low:(, as I want to use her to plough in the odd match, but she may be slow enough in H1. Apart from that I'm looking forward to doing other odds and with her, once I get her tidied up a bit:). Paddy.
  18. another 3045 question

Thanks, was the 3545 the same arrangment as the 5545, or still the same as the 3045 ?
  19. another 3045 question

Yep, Cecil has been very helpful and was a lot cheaper than anywhere else for the silencer. He keeps quite a lot of the older parts, and is ordering some things for me at the moment. Any of you boys know why the 4WD only works in the high range, seems the front wheels are always in high ???
  20. another 3045 question

Thanks Zebedee, hers a picture of the old girl I've put on 2 new trac rod ends, and have the bushes for the centre pin, but will have to look at the box down the line. Still trying to figure out the hydraulics and PTO.
  21. another 3045 question

Just bought one, and need to tighten up the steering. Is there any way of adjusting the steerig box,as there is a fair bit of slack in it. Everything else seems to work fine, and its really only the mud guards which need attention. Any good part suppliers? Thanks
  22. 9641

The dealer did my work, but I think he said they could be done through the timing cover, after the front axle and cradle are wheeled out. Ploughed all day Thurs. with her and they have made a good job of her, running like new.
  23. 9641

Dave have finally got the big lady sorted, and unfortunately you were spot on. My dealer stripped her down and could see nothing wrong, so after a good clean up, rebuilt the engine, only to find the noise still there. Checked the air compressor, and power steering pump, to find nothing, even...
  24. 9641

Dave thanks for your reply, although I hope you are wrong as it sounds expensive. We have tried everything we can think of now and the dealer is coming to see what he can do. Went this morning and saw a similar tractor, just to make sure it wasn't normal turbo noise, but this left me in no doubt...
  25. Disc Mower

mulla, just joined forum and saw your post, the advice given is correct, but the filler plug is usually about 12-18 inches from end of disc bed, to check oil level you set the outer end of the bed onto a block ,( my 8ft. mower is 14 inches off ground, inside on ground, so that bed is at an...
  26. 9641

Just found this forum earlier tonite, and thought someone on here may be able to help. My 9641 developed a squeil, high pitched whistle, sounding like a bearing running dry, first thought was water pump, which was leaking anyway, so fitted a new one. no difference. new fan belts, no difference...
