  3. 5211...Does this sound like a lift pump problem ?

Hi Mike and Forterra11441, Thanks to both of you....I'll clamp the return line and see if I can find the leak.... and go from there. I hear the fuel tank filler cap can "go bad"....is there supposed to be a vent in it...or does the complete system need to be air tight? Take care, Don
  4. 5211...Does this sound like a lift pump problem ?

My 5211 now runs very well....stopping and restarting within a few minutes is no problem, but sometimes when I stop for 15 to 20 minutes and try to restart....acts like it's not getting fuel. This afternoon I bled the screw on the injector pump and primed the heck out of it and finally got it...

  7. 5211...Does this sound like a lift pump problem ?

Hi Rob, The rubber fuel line hoses I used are 5/16" ID and fit well onto the soldered tubes coming from the fuel tank. My next move was to go to an electric fuel pump as you did....but didn't have to after all. One of the hoses I replaced looks like an original woven type hose...couldn't see...

  10. 5211...Does this sound like a lift pump problem ?

Yes...it helps. Any past experiences with problem solving I hear about...adds to my working knowledge and possible fixes for my particular situation. I know there is a hole in the floor of the tractor (under the rubber mat) where I think you should be able to reach the fuel tank pipes and hose...
  11. 5211...Does this sound like a lift pump problem ?

Thanks guys for all the good info. I want to give you an update on current status. Hi Mike You were correct again....some sort of trash that did look like an insect.....thought for sure it would now prime and start....but no. 14. 5211...Does this sound like a lift pump problem ?

Hi Mike I feel stupid for not starting with the "basics" and appreciate you getting me back on the right path. The filters were really nasty...and I think were the main problem. After bleeding air out of the system, I was finally able to get her moved from the side of the hill to the barn. I...
  15. 5211...Does this sound like a lift pump problem ?

Hi, Mike and BigDoug.....tried both your suggestions and still no joy. Thanks Mike and ricc...I'll try to locate the source of the leak...stop it...and if still no joy....check the fuel line. Sure wish this had happened in my barn....instead of on the side of that cold, windy and dark hill. :( I sure apprecitate your help guys...Happy Trails to you, Don
  18. 5211...Does this sound like a lift pump problem ?

Over the last few days my 5211 has been hard to start about 1 out of 5 times....starter spins fine, but takes a while to fire up. I've tried priming the lift pump and noticed the pressure doesnt build up as firm as it has been. Yesterday after sitting for a couple of hours......same thing...

Mike (ixer0), ricc, Forterra....thanks guys for your help. After your last post, Mike, I got it up and running with no problems. Took longer to remove the floor panel and clean off the gunk on top of the gear box than it did to "get-er-done" :) Happy days are here again, Don

  21. 5211 hung in reverse..how bad is it

Hi Mike....easier is always best for me. Just to make sure I understand, I loosen the bolt you're talking about...without removing the gear selector housing...and then try to shift out of reverse..and retighten the bolt? Or....remove the housing....and loosen the bolt to make shifting out of...

Hi Guys....I think the oil for my 5211 Front end loader comes from my Trans Gear Box....Does the oil for my steering assist also come from there, if not.....where is reservoir and what fluid does it use? I know this is a stupid question with a simple answer....but would appreciate your help...
  28. Does this sound like a clutch master cylinder, slave or adjustment on my 5211

Just an update on my original question. Mike was correct about the problem being the clutch master cylinder. I tried bleeding the system 3 different times and would never last very long. The new master cylinder solved the problem. I appreciate your help Mike. Thanks Don
