  1. Can you trust your fuel gauge

All diesels will do this - zetor are pretty good to get going because the manual fuel pump is strong compared to some tractor makes - you can pump a lot of fuel. I've noticed ours will sometimes get air in the line sooner than expected if the front of the tractor is uphill for long. This...
  2. 7245

I've found the electrics generally quite good on all our zetors really.
  3. 7245 what engine

The air system makes the PTO clutch much lighter to use. Sometimes you need to engage/disengage many times through the day so this is a good thing ;)
  4. Paint

The problem with getting a match is that your original paint will probably have faded especially if its outside in the sun a lot. No easy way round this apart from respraying a larger area. Since tractor panels aren't so big this is a reasonable option.
  5. How are the new Forterras and Proximas doing?

Forterra 9641 we have had almost 5 years now and its proved a very sound tractor, no significant problems and its done over 2000 hours now. Running a 8441 proxima on daily loader duties, it does more work in the Summer bale carting and such. Again, its been faultless apart from a slipping fan...
  6. 8441 Proxima

There's something of a problem due to the loaction of the giant exhaust. A front loader needs to be located further forward than is ideal and it makes the tractor nose heavy.
  7. More problems than bleeding the brake fluid!

I think you have a gearbox problem - this happened to one of our 7540s(I think), had to drop off a full load of grass nad go back to the farm in reverse! The dealers mechanic came out and opened the top of the gearbox, then with a metal rod pushed things back into place. The longest job was...
  8. worst tractor ever

A DB/Case 1494 we have is now 22 years old - but has spent the last 5 years slowly rotting away behind the shed. It will start with patience but it seems to take about an hour to top up all the fluids it leaked out in the time since you last ran it. Has had more spent on repairs big and small...
  9. the new proxima plus

We got a new 8441 proxima last May and I've been impressed. Only minor gripe is that having put a big quicke loader on meant it was necessary to reduce the steering lock somewhat. This was a shame because the compact tractor now needs a bit more space to turn, which you notice sometimes!
  10. Mounting a mower on 7745

You need to adjust the stabiliser bars (are they there?) after you mount the mower in transport position. First remove the pins which stop them telescoping in & out. Park the tractor on a slope so the mower is already a little more to the right - put your pins back in if you can, if they won't...
  11. How are the new Forterras and Proximas doing?

HAve had the Forterra 9641 for almost three years now with no problems other than clutch slave cylinder changed. In April we bought new 8441 Proxima, a good basic tractor but not as sophisticated as forterra, it's much like the older 7245 style with new bodywork.
