I had the same problem with my 7341. It started to let water into oil at 1800hrs but it was 9 years old. There was only 1500 hrs on her when I bought it in 2009. There was no anti freeze in her when I got it. I replaced the cyclinder liners and pistons plus 4 new head gaskets. I have 2 more on...
Hi renze,
I skimmed the head and it was replaced by the main dealer.
He torqued it 150n m ,I think. It also blew head gasket on cylinder 3, 15 months after it was replaced in September 2013,so far it is ok.
Hi,
I have a 2003 7341 and it blew the head gasket on number 1 cylinder in December 2013, the exhaust fumes were escaping between the head and the block I fixed it, but it has split the gasket again. I noticed it about 2 weeks ago. It is split on the exhaust side facing the rad, the water level...
If the oil is milky colour then there is water and this may be the reason that the hydraulics don't work when it's freezing.
In Ireland we use 15w30 universal tractor oil.
Do you have a cab on your tractor? if not is it parked outside or inside?
I have now replaced the water pump which cost 190 incl vat. I have filled the rad with a 50:50 mix of anti freeze and tap water.
when I replaced the liners they were very rusty with pitting in some of them, there was only 1900 hrs on the engine. The old water pump was also rusty inside also...
Since the winter is here, which is the best to use in 7341, coolant or anti freeze. Do 7341 need a special coolant like other tractors (john deere) or will a glycol antifreeze and water mix do?
As a result of the previous owner not putting antifreeze in the tractor I have replaced the o...
Hi Everyone.
I had the cylinder head gaskets done on my 7341 during the summer, it was done by the main dealer, since then I have put 50 hrs on. Recently I have noticed a small bit of engine between head 4 and the block, should I have the heads retorqued?
The main agent adviced that there is no...
In the english farmers weekly there is a front cover of the new zetor hsx and a review inside. The review is positive which is a nice change from the negative reviews that the british press usually give to zetor. According to the farmers weekly the new major series will be on sale in britain...
In this weeks Irish Farmers Journal it is reported that zetor are launching a new major series in 2013, it will have a zetor engine and a carraro gearbox. Has anybody else hear about this?
Hi Shane, Galway was always a stronghold for Zetor. I don't know where the dealers are in Galway but go into zetor.ie and they will email you the location of your nearest dealer. Have you thought about getting the old one reconditioned?
I would get the injector pump checked out. It may need to be opened up a few notchs. I know a man who had a John deere with the same problem as your 7540 and the problem was cured by adjusting the pump. Get a qualified experienced engineer to do the job. Best of luck with it.
